Pictorial Directory Sign-up to have your picture taken for Chapel Hill's new photo directory! We would like for the entire church family to participate in this endeavor. A few members of our staff are still putting faces with names and a complete directory would benefit greatly!
Listen to Sermons and Perceptions Online If you would like to listen to any of the past sermons or perceptions you can now access them directly on our site or you can subscribe to our podcast on iTunes.
Tell Us a Story! As we prepare and get closer to the 50th anniversary of Chapel Hill UMC I encourage each of you, members and non-members alike, to write a paragraph or two (or three …) of what Chapel Hill means to you.
Going Green What a great opportunity it is to be able to help our environment by recycling our magazines and papers in the green recycling bin at Chapel Hill  ...  with the bonus of enabling the church to receive money.  I also really like the convenience of recycling right there in our church's north parking lot  ...  any time I come to the church for worship, Bible study, or a meeting....Barbara Perry

Rose's Ramblings (September 2010)

Strategic Plan
There are many people who have been working very hard all summer in developing our Strategic Plan for the next 5 years. Their proposals will be presented following each of the Sanctuary worship services on Sunday, September 26. We will allow those who do not wish to hear the Strategic Plan to leave following each service. The presentations will be made in the sanctuary for those attending the Sanctuary worship. For those attending Chapel Hill LIVE, Valerie will be sharing with you how the Strategic Plan will be presented.

From the Business Office (September 2010)

As we approach the fall and the return to schools, we ask that you bear with us as we continue the process of repairing the damages caused by the May hail storm. I realize that scaffolding, lifts and other equipment are a strain on our parking facilities, and we are doing our best to keep these areas clear, especially on Sunday mornings. Our shingled roofs have now been completed, and the flat roof systems are scheduled to begin this week. New guttering has been installed throughout the facilities, the EIFS (stucco) surfaces have been repaired, and work on our A/C systems is scheduled within the next few weeks. The stained glass repairs in the Parlor and Print Shop are now complete. Other window replacements are in the process of being completed. We hope to have all exterior repairs completed sometime in mid to late September. At that time, we will begin our negotiations with our insurance company for interior repairs, including the painting of the Sanctuary.

2010 Fall WatCH Classes

fall-icon-for-webDo you want to make a difference in our world? Would you like to be a part of changing the future for the better? Most revivals or reformations that have had regional, national or global impact started locally. We often want to see our world changed but fail to take the local steps to make such change possible. Below you will find three Bible study opportunities for you to grow in your relationship with Jesus Christ and others at Chapel Hill. Changing the world always starts with a change in someone. Give God more access in your life and see what more God can do through you.
Fellowship is important. Just as a burning log needs other logs to keep burning, so we need others to keep us serving faithfully. The opportunities provided in this brochure for us to gather together are important. Each of us needs others. Others need us.

Men’s Monday Night “BasketBible”

basketball-2

Would you be interested in our Monday night "BasketBible" study? We meet at 6:00pm each Monday night in the Family Life Center where we play something resembling basketball! Bible Study (Philippians 2) begins around 7:00pm.
This Bible study has transfigured from 3-4 church members playing ball and reading the Word, to an opportunity for community outreach, and evangelism. Last week we had 16 guys show up, 11 of them being college kids/young adults from our surrounding neighborhoods. Everyone had a great time and all participated in the Bible study afterwards. Each week we are seeing new faces ... come see what it's all about!
