United Methodist Women – our purpose
“The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.”
Yes, I am a woman, and yes,I am a Methodist, and I can serve others through the church. But as a member of this organization, I am blessed to share my passion with the unique women of the UMW who not only understand this purpose, but put it into practice every day - Chris Massey
UMW is and has been a very important part of my life for almost 50 years. When I first made the decision to become active, helping to raise money for missions with bazaars, projects and luncheons seemed like a small thing to do. But when taken as a part of the bigger picture of UMW nationwide and internationally wide, you see and believe that God does indeed bring about extraordinary things through the work of ordinary women. Don’t take my words the wrong way. WMW women are far from ordinary! They are the type of women who strive to help those who are less fortunate and support Christ’s mission through the church. The close association with Christian Methodist women is especially meaningful, and whatever service I can provide is a joy - Carolyn Kirk
I have enjoyed being in the UMW these past 20 years. The missions have touched my heart; it has meant so much to make a difference, The women have helped me through bad times and celebrated with me in joyful times - Michelle Webster
To ALL Ladies of Chapel Hill
Tuesday, September 3, 6:30pm needs to be listed on your calendars as a “Must.” We open our 2013-14 Schedule with the “Dessert Bash.” Women in Faith Circle will tempt us with a variety of luscious desserts (for only $3.00) from which you may choose – or try them all. They’ll taste even better with the great fellowship as we catch up on summer activities and look forward to new opportunities for service.
Our special guest will be Harri Williams, North Oklahoma City District United Methodist Women President. She will have an update on events for district, conference, and yes, worldwide events in the next nine months. You will definitely enjoy meeting this lovely woman!
