May is Mental Health Month

By Melody McCreary, Faith Partners Coordinator

In this month of  May,  many around the globe observe Mental Health Awareness Month. To us, it's much more than a month to reiterate statistics and promote support. It's a chance for us to reflect on God’s promise of peace to us. As Chapel Hill Faith Partners, we use this time to focus on the healing value of connecting in safe ways, prioritizing our holistic approach to recovery and encouraging everyone's individual journey to mental wellness. Mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual wellness are pillars for those attending Chapel Hill’s Recovery program. We invite you to encourage someone today to embark on their journey to mental wellness, deepening their focus on these core pillars that have helped so many achieve recovery.

1 Peter 5:7 casting all your anxieties on him, for he cares for you.

Wellness looks different for everyone. Each person who joins our class groups on Wednesday evenings 6-7:30 pm or Sunday 9:40-10:40 am has their own combination to open the lock that will one day reveal their peace. The Discipleship (recovery) classes we offer help those attending to be able to participate in renewing themselves by engaging in bible studies, mentoring, counseling and truly focusing on the elements of their life that make them whole.  We stand with each one during a hard time in their life, to bring support and love.  One common theme connects us all together – a desire to transform; a desire to walk a closer path with God; a desire to connect with each other.

Our classes are open to anyone wanting to experience teaching from the Word of God and support through prayer and friendship.
