Project Transformation Transforms
How You Can Help Children Keep Reading This Summer
By Amanda Walz
As you know, every year we partner with AmeriCorps to host Project Transformation for children and families in our community. This program is focused on literacy and food access, but, also relationships. While this summer hosting Project Transformation in the traditional, on campus, way will not be possible - we are STILL reaching out and loving these families!
Twice a week we will be providing dinner to go for families and providing children with the necessary supplies to continue learning throughout the summer! It's our goal to give every child one book every week this summer (for them to KEEP)!
We would love for you to consider donating a book (or two) that would be appropriate for Elementary aged children! These can be brand new or used books in great condition. If you are curious about what books to select check out some current options HERE.
Here is how you can help get the books and supplies to the children!
•Drop books in a collection bin that will located at the West entrance from 9:30 to 4:00pm, Monday - Thursday.
•Order Books Online? Please have them delivered directly to Chapel Hill UMC, c/o Amanda Walz. Our address is 2717 W. Hefner, Oklahoma City, OK 73120.
•You may give a monetary donation at this time so we can make sure every child has the same types of items by completing the direct donation below. Your generosity will provide Oklahoma City children, and their families, with access to learning oportunities and food throughout the summer.
